"Global Disruption" at the 2026 Anaplio Carnival

With the central slogan "Global Disruption" , the Nafplio Carnival 2026 is coming to transform Nafplio into an immense scene of joy, satire and creative expression.

This year's event aspires to take young and old to every corner of the planet, through a program full of colors , rhythms , disguises and endless fun.

The city streets will be filled with impressive presences, original ideas and smiles, in an atmosphere where imagination takes center stage and everyday life is… turned upside down. This year's Carnival takes on an international character, showcasing the joy of Carnival as a common meeting point of cultures, traditions and people.

The curtain of the events opens on Sunday, February 15th with the Nafplio Choral Workshop , setting the tone for a period full of activities and participation.

The climax will come with the celebration of Kouloum at the Asini Stadium , where the traditional kite flying and the established competition will bring families and groups together, honoring the custom of Clean Monday .

Through the Anapliotiko Carnival 2026 , the timeless custom of Carnival remains alive, offering everyone the opportunity to leave behind the worries of everyday life and participate in a great celebration of optimism.

The Municipality of Nafplio extends an open invitation to residents and visitors to become part of this year's "Global Disruption" and experience the magic of carnival in the heart of Argolida .

Old Town

The Nafplio Choral Workshop,  under the direction of Yannis Nikolopoulos, sings carnival songs in the streets of the old town.

Time 18:30

The ladies of another era, accompanied by a violin, take a historical walk through the city with guide Mrs. Tina Giola.

Childhood Museum of the Vasilis Papantoniou Foundation/20:00 

AllaFieradell΄Εst

The students of the Acting Department of the SAEK of Nafplio present an open Commedia dell'Arte course.

The action is carried out with the support of the Vasilis Papantoniou Foundation.

Old Town/20:00

The Mixed Polyphonic Ensemble of the Nafplio Municipal Choir and the Nafplio Youth Municipal Choir wear their carnival costumes and fill the streets of the old town with singing, joy and carnival "teasing".

Ionian cantatas, Latin rhythms, traditional Greek songs, as well as selections with... "spicy" lyrics, compose an evening full of music and joy.

Come, let's all become one big group, sing, dance and have fun!

¨Hidden Treasure Game¨

A game for children, where the search for hidden objects is done  in groups , with cooperation and communication to solve puzzles and reach… the treasure! An activity full of fun, action and participation.

Walking performance – Domino and Tarantella/19:30

Starting point: Three Admirals Square

Route: Vasileos Konstantinou Street

End point: Syntagma Square

The Domino group begins by dancing Tarantella and interacting with the audience through games and “freezes” along the way. The action culminates in Syntagma Square with a Tarantella dance, music and audience participation, creating an impressive combination of walking action, interactivity and traditional music and dance.

The Municipal Community of Pyrgiotika and the Educational & Cultural Association of Pyrgiotika "Agios Georgios" celebrate Carnival in the village square, with bonfires, burning of carnival, music, traditional gogos and treats for young and old, creating a lively atmosphere of a traditional celebration.

The Municipal Community of Tolo, in collaboration with the Cultural Association of Tolo and the Parents and Guardians Association of Tolo Primary School, are organizing a large carnival parade.
